Waarom brengt je kat haar kittens krekels?

It is very unlikely that a cat would bring crickets to her kittens. Here is why:

  • Crickets aren't a natural prey item for cats. Cats are primarily carnivores and their natural prey consists of small mammals, birds, and occasionally reptiles.
  • Crickets can be harmful to kittens. Crickets can bite, and some species can carry parasites.
  • Cats are typically very protective of their kittens. A mother cat would be unlikely to bring something potentially harmful near her young.

If you are seeing a cat bringing something to its kittens, it is much more likely to be a small mouse, bird, or even a toy. It is a natural instinct for mother cats to teach their kittens how to hunt and eat.

If you are concerned about your cat or kittens, it is best to consult with a veterinarian.
