Huisdieren
It’s not a simple yes or no. Monkeys, like humans, have different social structures and mating systems depending on species.
Titi Monkeys: Form strong pair bonds and stay together for life, even raising young together.
Gibbons: Known for long-term monogamous relationships and duet singing.
Gorillas: Males maintain harems of several females.
Orangutans: Males are solitary but mate with multiple females.
Many Baboon Species: Complex social structures with dominant males mating with many females.
Capuchin Monkeys: Have loose social structures and may mate with multiple partners.
Monkeys are not all alike in mating practices. Social structure and mating systems are influenced by food availability, habitat, and predator pressure.
While some monkeys stay with mates for life, others have more complex and varied systems.
